Traveling to San Diego with a baby and/or toddler is a great idea for a family vacation. There are so many kid-friendly things to do in San Diego, it’s easy to get around, there’s plenty of kid-friendly places to eat and stay.
Our 2.5 year old daughter loves zoo animals – she would visit the zoo every day if she had a chance. It was a no-brainer to add the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park to our itinerary when we were looking for things to do in San Diego with a toddler and a baby. We were excited to take her to see the many animals that aren’t found in our local zoo, especially the pandas, polar bears, koalas and orangutans.
There are many fun things to do in Sedona with kids, but without question the kid-friendly hikes in Sedona are the best. Sedona’s dramatic, towering red rocks are so much fun for kids of all ages to explore.
As someone who has written about travel on the internet for 8 years, I was keen to explore family travel as soon as possible after having my daughter, Indiana. Of course, the reality was a little different than expected (turns out motherhood is actually quite tricky) and we didn’t get around to taking our first trip abroad as a family until she was 10 months old.
The ancient Nabataean city of Petra, nestled in the Shara Mountains of southern Jordan, dates back nearly 2,000 years. This once prosperous and vital trade city, nicknamed the “Rose City” owing to the pink-hued color of the surrounding cliffs, will awe you with its large facades carved directly into the mountainsides.
My husband is a world traveler and the one who usually plans our trips with crazy, detailed itineraries and a ton of places to stop. We are now first time parents and things have changed a lot! We have a 16 month old toddler and with that, I knew we wouldn’t be able to travel the way we did before or do all of the things that we had planned. I’ll admit it right now, I was stressed and scared to travel with a baby.
The annual summer vacation is something my parents gifted to my sister and I growing up. Now that I have a family of my own, I am excited to share the joy of travel with my daughter Annika.
This is us – Manuel, Julia and little Mrs T. We live in beautiful Vienna, Austria and love to travel. We recently went to Madrid with our toddler to visit my sister-in-law, who was teaching at a Spanish school at that time, and my husband was running the EDP Rock ‘n’ Roll Madrid Half-Marathon.
I recently discovered that there is a word, solivagant, which means someone who wanders alone.
In 2015, two solivagants married. My husband and I met via a global travel community and bonded over our love of wandering. When our son was born in 2017, we promised to travel with our baby and to show him the world.
My husband and I both love to travel, but traveling with a baby for the first time and doing it in the winter was new for us. I have family living in Ottawa, Canada and we have visited several times over the years. Ottawa is beautiful, has a small town feel, great food and the downtown core is easy to get around in! There are so many things to do in Ottawa in the winter, as we learned while traveling with our baby.
