Baby’s Brew Portable Bottle Warmer and How it Saved Me!

Introducing the Baby’s Brew Portable Bottle Warmer. It’s the one baby travel gear item that I credit saving me from having to stay home! As a parent who was told that my travel days were over, but just didn’t want to accept it, this one item helped me find my travel groove!

My son would only eat his bottle warm, and it took so much planning and “perfect” timing to make sure I always had a bottle ready and heated for him. I had read all the tips and tricks to feeding on an airplane, so I was ready as we were flying with our baby for the first time.  I had the bottle heated before we got on the plane, so I could “feed during take-off” and I thought I was all ready to go. And I was…for the first bottle.

What I didn’t realize or plan for is he wanted more bottle during take-off. He was hysterically crying for more; I didn’t have more milk heated. I started to lose it myself. I couldn’t get up, I couldn’t request a flight attendant, I felt so trapped. It was the longest 15 minutes of my life as I sat there waiting to be able to get up and ask for hot water. Then it was another 10-15 minutes to heat up the bottle. It was a disaster. Immediately, I got online and quickly ordered the solution to all my problems.

The solution that saved my traveling lifestyle – the Baby’s Brew Portable Bottle Warmer!

About the Baby’s Brew Bottle Warmer

The Baby’s Brew portable bottle warmer is a bottle heater that is easy to pack in the diaper bag for on-the-go or in a carry-on. It is a battery-powered bottle warmer that can heat milk to the desired temperature.

What does that mean for use traveling parents? That means, no finding plug-ins or asking a flight attendant or barista for hot water to help heat up the bottle (which you would need to do with the budget Tommee Tippee portable bottle warmer). This travel bottle warmer really took so much stress and anxiety out of things that I loved to do (travel) and even quick trips to Target or the mall.

We have used the Baby’s Brew since my son was 6 weeks old and continued to use it till he was almost a 1.5 years old. It’s definitely one of our favorite baby travel essentials.

We have traveled to Florida when he was 3 months, Boston when he was 5 months, used this on-the-go bottle warmer on the airplane, in the hotel room, and even out to dinner. We also use the Baby’s Brew in our everyday lives, weekend car trips to our lake house, shopping trips, day hiking trips, etc.

I truly believe it’s the best bottle warmer for travel. And not only that, this travel baby bottle warmer really can be used whenever and wherever your baby needs a warm bottle.

What Makes Baby’s Brew the Best Travel Bottle Warmer

As I was choosing what portable bottle warmer I wanted, there were other similar products in the market. I chose Baby’s Brew bottle warmer since there were additional features that I was looking for that I couldn’t find in similar products.

If you are like me and looking for the best portable bottle warmer for travel, here are the main features of the Baby Brew bottle warmer that I love:

Battery Powered

The best portable bottle warmers should not need to be plugged in. The Baby’s Brew does not need to be plugged into an outlet or adapter. This was hands down the main feature I was looking for, and it delivered!

Baby's Brew - best portable bottle warmer

This portable bottle warmer is travel friendly and easy to use – you simply take your bottle full of milk and screw on the heater (as you would be similar to a bottle). Flip it over and set the temperature you would like to use. Once it is heated, you simple flip it back over, unscrew the heater and screw on your bottle’s lid. Baby is ready to eat in no time.

Size

The Baby’s Brew is small and compact at 6.6in x 4.7in x 3.5in, It’s sleek, stainless steel, leak-proof design means you can easily carry it in your backpack diaper bag for travel or even your purse. It is also very light- weighs about 4 ounces – so it does not add a ton of additional weight to those diaper bags!

Works with Most Bottles

Fits most wide neck bottles. If it’s not one of the Baby’s Brew compatible bottles, you are able to get an adapter to fit the bottle perfectly. I have an adapter for the Como Tomo bottles, and it works great with no leaks or issues. There is a new box, that now comes with 4 adapters, which would be great if you were not sure which bottle you were going to use.

Holds a charge for up to 8-12 hours so you can leave the cord at home! You also have the option to heat a bottle while the heater is charging. This has happened to me a few times during travel, but it was nice to be able to use it while charging back in the hotel room if I had used it all day!

Baby’s Brew Portable Bottle Warmer Compared to Others

Baby’s Brew vs Munchkin

One similar model to the Baby’s Brew bottle warmer is the Munchkin 98 deg Bottle Warmer. While the Munchkin is a cheaper price point, it must be plugged in when heating a bottle. This was the deal breaker for me.

I felt like having to plus in the Munchkin took away from being “portable”. It was not going to save me in times of need, so I passed quickly when looking into this model. In addition, it only heats to one temperature point. Knowing I would be using this for traveling, I wasn’t sure what I would be feeding my baby (breastmilk, formula, or cow’s milk) or if I would be able to use this for other things after he was done nursing.

Baby’s Brew vs Mercalon Portable Bottle Warmer

Another similar model I was looking into was the Mercalon Portable Bottle Warmer. It was slightly more expensive than the Baby Brew. It also seemed to warm water or breastmilk very quickly and the biggest attraction to me was that I wouldn’t have to attach my bottle to heat.

The Mercalon simply heats milk or water up in the warmer (it looks like a water bottle) and then you transfer it to the bottle. It seemed almost perfect, however, the size seemed almost too big for my needs.

For traveling I wanted something smaller and more compact. Mercalon, I thought would be harder to travel with and now I am so glad I chose against it. We as Mom’s already have so much to pack, the Baby Brew fits in my diaper bag, sometimes without me knowing it’s in there.

Things That Could Be Improved with Babys Brew

There were two cons for me as I got really good at using this product:

Cleaning the Baby’s Brew

The bottle adapter and a few other silicone pieces came out very easily and would wash like bottles. The main “heater” is not something you can throw in the dishwasher or the sink. I would have to be very careful and diligent as I washed the stainless steel.

This part does touch the milk (it is how the milk is heated), so I was a bit paranoid about bacteria and wanted to make sure it was always clean before every use. You can’t sink it in water, but it is not impossible to clean, so overall it was worth the small pain of cleaning it!

Time to Heat Bottle

Yes, it does take about 5-7 minutes to heat the bottle up if the Baby Brew is fully charged. If you have used it a few times already, it would lose its “juice” and take additional time to heat bottles up. Once you realize this, you can easily heat the bottle up a few minutes earlier. In hindsight, it would not steer me away from purchasing it but something that I didn’t realize until I started using it more.

Final Thoughts on the Baby’s Brew Bottle Warmer for Travel

I truly think the Baby’s Brew is the best portable baby bottle warmer. It takes feeding and traveling to an entirely different level. Even as a breastfeeding Mama, there were so many times that it was easier to do a quick bottle and a majority of that is due to the Baby Brew.
