If you are looking for one of the best portable travel high chairs, you can’t go wrong with the Inglesina Fast Table Chair. For years we’ve been recommending the Inglesina high chair to parents as one of the best high chairs for travel. And now, with this Inglesina Fast Table Chair review, you can learn more about why parents love this portable clip on table chair for babies or toddlers.

The Inglesina Fast Table Chair is potentially the only high chair a family will ever need to purchase, for both at home and for travel.

We recently asked a fellow parent what she thought of the Inglesina Fast Table Chair for travel. We are fortunate that Erica has written an Inglesina Fast Table Chair review for us based on her years of experience with this portable high chair. Here’s what Erica had to say about the Inglesina high chair:

Using the Inglesina Fast Table Chair at Home

As a new parent in 2016, I was constantly overwhelmed by all the baby travel gear needed to do simple things like meeting up with friends or family. The Inglesina high chair was recommended to me by my sister as a spare portable high chair to have when we weren’t using our Stokke Tripp Trapp set.

At first I was most interested in the small size of the Inglesina chair, but after using it I mainly appreciate its ability to have the child at the table with you. You may not realize it but a lot of other high chairs place babies much lower than the table and the child ends up being left out of all the action at the table.

This is especially true of restaurant high chairs and it’s nearly impossible for the baby to feed themselves while sitting so low.

Like most families, the COVID-19 pandemic greatly limited our ability to go anywhere let alone restaurants. Now that we are more comfortable going back out, we have my youngest using the Inglesina table chair. It brings me ease knowing that I am putting my daughter in something we’ve had at home versus putting her in a restaurant provided high chair that may not be cleaned to my standards.

I also love how it has become an extra high chair for us to have at home if friends or family visit – I always let guests know they don’t need to bring a high chair with them.

Travel with the Inglesina Fast Table Chair

Another element of this Inglesina Fast Table Chair review is how well it performs as a travel high chair. We have taken the Inglesina Fast Table Chair to many different places, including trips to my in-laws house for holidays to a charity pancake breakfast at our local high school. Friends of ours whose kids are all grown up always comment how wonderful the Inglesina hook on high chair is and how they wished they had something similar when they were raising their families.

My family and I recently came back from a vacation in Lake Placid with a baby, and this portable table high chair was taken everywhere with us. We kept it in the trunk of our car or stored it on the bottom of our big jogging stroller when out.

We used the Inglesina chair in our hotel room for breakfast and even fastened it to a picnic table out in the woods! This portable high chair would even work well for camping with a baby or toddler.

While eating out in a restaurant, I had two waitresses comment on this Inglesina clip on high chair and one of them, who happened to be a new mom, told me she purchased it on her phone in between taking our food orders and bringing us lunch!

We would definitely pack the Inglesina portable high chair for international travel as well. It packs flat, allowing it to be packed in a suitcase, when flying with a baby. If it fits in the bottom of a travel stroller or in a backpack, we could bring it out with us for the day as well.

Inglesina Fast Table Chair Specifications

The Inglesina Fast Table Chair is perfect for any baby that is able to independently sit. For under $100, parents will get a lot of use out of the Inglesina portable high chair. Here are a few pertinent specs for parents who are interested in this table high chair:

  • Inglesina fast table chair age range: The manufacturer specifies it’s for children between the ages of 6 and 36 months.

  • Inglesina high chair weight limit: The Inglesina Fast Table Chair weight limit is 37 pounds. We are currently using it with our baby who just turned 1 years old.

The baby table chair itself is lightweight at 4.2 lbs and the dimensions when open are 14″ x 17″ x 11”. This Inglesina high chair is collapsible and the dimensions when it’s folded are 14″ x 17″ x 4″, making it easy to carry in the included carry bag.

A fully collapsed Inglesina Fast Table Chair is small enough to easy transport.

The Inglesina portable high chair attaches to tables that are 0.8″ to 3.3″ thick with twist-tight couplings, allowing it to work on most tables without scratching the table.

Coming in an array of fun colors and with an optional dining tray, the Inglesina Fast Table Chair is perfect for both at home or while traveling. If the dining tray is a must, you can also purchase the Inglesina high chair and dining tray bundle.

Tips for Using the Inglesina Fast Table Chair

The Inglesina high chair is easily attached to a table by rotating the arms counter clockwise (I always get confused doing this since I have to repeat the opposite of “righty tighty lefty loosey”). The Inglesina attaches directly to most tables (0.8″ to 3.3″ thick). I have never had any trouble attaching the high chair to any sort of table and our use has been quite varied.

I am often asked about Inglesina Fast Table Chair safety. I get it… parents may be concerned that their kid is suspended in the air while in this high chair that attaches to the table. This is understandable, and I often place a regular dining chair underneath it for peace of mind. Before placing my child in the seat, I always push down on the attached high chair and ensure it is secure.

A padded adjustable buckle is also included inside so if you’re concerned about your little one trying to escape, this helps keep them seated within the Inglesina clip-on high chair. The high backrest and extra padded seat are perfect for keeping little ones comfortable too.

The back of the Inglesina hook on chair has a pocket which is where I store a handful of disposable placemats. You probably could store one or two clean bibs in there plus wipes so you have everything you need in one place at meal time.

We always use disposable placemats with the Inglesina high chair and put them down on the table prior to securing it. It’s not only a fresh, clean surface for your kid to eat from but a lot of the placemats are activity driven. I keep a handful of placemats in the back pocket of the Inglesina portable high chair.

Downsides of the Inglesina High Chair

My Inglesina Fast Table Chair review wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t talk about a few of the things I think could be improved on this baby table chair. As mentioned, I love how small the Inglesina hook-on high chair is and how easy it is to carry around with us. The versatility and back storage pocket are great too. I often just leave it in my trunk since it takes up so little space and I know I have a chair to place the baby in just in case we unexpectedly need it.

The only downside I’ve found with the Inglesina Fast Table Chair is cleaning it. Prior to taking the high chair with us to Lake Placid, I only ever spot cleaned the high chair since I didn’t quite understand how to take it apart to clean the cushion.

Since we just came back from a trip, I was determined to learn how to remove the cushion to clean it. With some help from the online manual, I eventually figured it out how to disassemble the seat. I removed the square cushion insert and then placed the entire seat cover in my washing machine for a good wash. It came out fresh and it didn’t take me much time then to figure out how to reassemble it all.

Inglesina Fast Table Chair Review – Final Thoughts

The Inglesina Fast Table Chair is a staple item to have and should be on any new baby registry! I usually don’t recommend for people to purchase items outside of those on a baby registry but I think any new mom and dad would be thrilled to receive one of these baby table chairs and a set of disposable placemats.

The Inglesina high chair is simple to use, easily stored and allows your baby to enjoy meal time with you. Bon appetite!
